Hello, I’m Fraser.
-
I’m a proud Aberdonian, fresh back from Australia. The three years I spent down under involved working in a variety of environments, developing a host of skills and meeting people from all walks of life.
My creative background spans graphic design, photography, filmmaking and content creation. Learning my craft at Gray’s School of Art, I became proficient in a variety of fields, whether that’s typography, editorial design, documentary photography or moving image. Having come back home, I’m now looking to contribute to the development of my Scotland’s cultural scene.
-
I graduated from Gray’s School of Art at Robert Gordon University with a First-Class Honours degree in Communication Design.
I’m confident using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
I’ve been passionate about photography for the past decade. I started out shooting observational street photography before gradually moving towards more intimate, event-based work, capturing people and moments as they happen.
I’ve spent years working in tourism and hospitality, meeting people from all walks of life. Along the way, I’ve learned how to think on my feet, connect with people of all ages and backgrounds, and take on whatever challenges come my way.
-
I love collaboration. Bringing ideas to the table and watching as others add to or shape them, and vice versa.
One of my biggest strengths is my versatility. With experience across design, photography and video, I’m able to approach problems from multiple angles, which helps keep ideas fresh.
I’m always keen to learn, collaborate and take on something new. Whether it’s a one-off photography project, a creative collaboration or a longer-term opportunity, I’d love to hear what you have in mind.

My First Hostel Job.
After moving to Melbourne, I began working for accommodation at the Selina St Kilda Hostel. After some time, I became the hostel’s in-house graphic designer. This involved designing menus, posters, signs, etc.
Initial Designs…

Roof Bar Menu.
Study Room Sign.
Guidelines.
After producing some initial designs, I was provided with Selina's official brand guidelines and a collection of existing assets from their design team. I then went back and adapted the work to fit their established visual identity.
Although most of my design work was completed using Adobe Creative Suite, I occasionally had to adapt to other software depending on the requirements of the project. For this weekly promotional planner, I was provided with an existing Canva Video Editor template by Selina's marketing team. I used this to create promotional content while keeping everything consistent with their established branding.
Admittedly, Canva wouldn't be my first choice, but sometimes you've got to work with the tools you're given!

The finished designs were approved by the marketing team and went on to be used throughout the venue. This was a great opportunity to get some experience working within an established brand, using guidelines and assets provided by another designer. It was a good exercise in finding ways to bring my own ideas into the work while keeping everything consistent with the company's existing visual style.
I once taught people how to fish…
During my time as a fishing guide in Western Australia, I developed a self-initiated promotional project documenting the experience of the fishing tours.
So I could always remember.
I produced a series of photographs and short-form videos, using immersive camera angles and fast-paced editing to capture the landscape, movement and physical experience of the tours.
